Billinghurst Cavern - Gozo

Reef Dive, Żebbuġ, Gozo

Billinghurst cavern is located on Gozo’s north side of its shoreline. Entering the water requires a giant stride. Railings are installed to facilitate the divers to the entry point and a ladder installed near the cave and can be used to exit the water.

Descending into the crystal clear blue waters and entering the cavern you will find mostly shrimp in the reef. A torch is required as there is not much natural light in the cavern. Preset lines are put out for divers to make their way in and out of the cavern.

Towards the end, there will be an air pocket for divers to explore. Once exiting the cavern, the dive can be continued along the reef and explore the big boulders just outside the cavern or dive toward the Reqqa point. Whenever the water is calm, it can be a very popular dive site and a must on your list when the weather is acceptable.

Experience Needed

You must be certified to dive to a depth of 30 meters to dive this site, as such we would require a minimum of Advanced Open Water Diver certification. We would also recommend Nitrox Diver and Deep Diver.
